Welcome Back!
My name is Nina Knauf, and I am so excited to finally kick off the fall semester as the 2020-2021 chapter president. I’m entering my senior year pursuing a public relations honors major and a double minor in new media and communication studies.

I have been a member of the James S. Measell Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) since my freshman year in the 2017 fall semester. Since then, PRSSA has become one of the most important institutions in my career. During the 2019-2020 school year, I served as the Vice President of Programming, coordinating our monthly events, meetings and the canceled 2020 District Conference in Detroit.
PRSSA has been so impactful in helping shape my career before I graduate in May 2021. This year’s executive board and I are incredibly proud to be representing such a well-respected organization and chapter. We were elected just before the COVID-19 pandemic, and since then, we’ve been working diligently to organize enriching and accessible virtual professional development events.
In addition to shifting to virtual programs, we’ve also refreshed our website and digital presence and created new optional virtual community events. One of our favorite parts of being a member of PRSSA is the community of young professionals pursuing similar career opportunities. In an effort to promote networking and professional relationship building, we’ve decided to roll out two virtual programs, “PR Study Hall” and “PR Happy Hour.”
PR Study Hall is a twice a month a virtual event where chapter members can create a relationship with eboard members, and PR Happy Hour helps members get to know working professionals in the communication field. These events are designed to help cultivate relationships and meaningful connections in the new virtual professional world.
I am thrilled to be serving our chapter for one more year, and I am looking forward to seeing our chapter thrive over the next several months.
Your 2020-2021 Chapter President,
Nina Knauf
